Astor School offers many fun events for students and the community during the school year that cannot occur without volunteers to make them possible. Many of these activities are sponsored by the Astor PTSO, but some are just part of everyday life at Astor.

Volunteering gives you the opportunity to participate in your child's education - with whatever time or talent you have. There are a wide variety of programs and events that require different skills, interests and time commitments.

Open Board Positions - 2021-2022

NOTE: All Board Positions may be shared by 2-3 people. This is encouraged.

Secretary/Social Media/Website

Responsible for maintaining all records, other than financial, maintained by the Astor PTSO.

Assists with Social Media, Newsletter.

Helps to maintain website.

Events Coordinators

Responsible for the management of Astor PTSO sponsored or supported events.

Volunteer Coordinator

Establishes list(s) of volunteers for all events and activities.

The Volunteer Coordinator shall work with the Vice President, Events Coordinator and school staff to schedule volunteers for activities and events sponsored and/or supported by the Astor PTSO.

Open Committee & Volunteer Positions

We are looking for volunteers to assist with the following:

Astor Benefit: The Astor Benefit committee helps to plan, organize and execute Astor’s biggest fundraiser of the school year. Roles include: Co-chairs, Decoration, Procurement, Data Entry, Catalog Design. Time Commitment: November - Early March

Green Team: Helps to facilitate recycling programs, gardening, rain garden maintenance.

Helping Hands: Wednesday mornings (starts at 8 am) at the PTSO Closet in the back hallway to copy, staple, laminate and cut out projects for the teachers. Contact Fiona Thompson for more information.

Traffic Patrol: Help manage traffic on N. Monteith from 7:45 - 8:00 am. Contact Chris in the front office for more information.
