Astor Race and Equity (A.R.E.) Parent Group

The Astor Race and Equity (A.R.E.) Parent Group is looking forward to a new school year! One of our visions is to start thoughtful, informed and self-aware conversations in respectful and honest ways. Our meetings are in part envisioning, identifying opportunities and planning, and in part continued growth and understanding of institutional inequity and ourselves.

We are partnering with Astor’s teachers, parents and students to bring an "equity lens” to all activities at our school. Astor’s Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) and school administration are engaged and in full support of our efforts. More information will be shared soon about:

• An opportunity for middle school students to participant in a Diversity Club
• Incorporating equity and diversity resources in our school library
• Our plan to add an inclusion component to our playground
